Malcolm Styles, the Director of EmStyles has a number of formal qualifications and professional institution memberships.

Formal Qualifications

Malcolm’s formal qualifications gained are as follows:       

  • Diploma of Engineering (Civil) at Swinburne College of Technology. (This qualification was recognised for membership admittance to the Institution of Engineers Australia). 

  • Graduate Diploma Municipal Engineering, Warrnambool Institute of Advanced Education, 1981. 

  • Victorian Municipal Engineers Board Certificate No. 1769 (1987). 

  • Graduate Diploma Management, Bendigo College of advanced Education 1987. Awarded Australian Institute of Management Prize for most outstanding course graduate.

  • Master of Business (Research), Latrobe University, 2004. Research Thesis published entitled ‘Local Government Reform in Victoria – The Culture of Best Value at the Rural City of Wangaratta’.

  • Member Institution of Engineers Australia Registered No. 51537 

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPE). 

  • Fellow Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (No. 3401) and currently an elected Board member of the Victorian Division. Formerly Victorian delegate to the National Board. 

  • Member Australian Institute of Management. 

  • Member Waste Management Association of Australia. 

  • Until recently, Fellow Local Government Professionals, where I was elected for two successive three year terms onto the LGPro Board.

  • Member, American Public works Association.
